deTrois® Sustainability Strides

As we confront the stark reality of the environmental footprint fashion industry bequeaths, our overarching mission, to be a catalyst for reform, propels us forward. Consequently, we present the deTrois® Sustainability Report, illuminating our journey towards a circular economy and lucid aspirations enshrined within our 2021-2026 Strategic Sustainability Plan.

Integral to fashion's sustainable revolution, our plan underscores five discerning strategic priorities: climate change and biodiversity, the circular economy, responsible sourcing, promoting diversity, and fortifying local communities. These commitments emanate from a detailed analysis where deTrois can magnify positive and mitigate negative impacts, whilst taking into account the sector's challenges, financial community and clientele's expectations.

Our Sustainability Commitments: Driving Positive Change

In bolstering our model's sustainability, our plan envisages a Net Zero target by 2050. This ambitious milestone demands decisive choices ranging from harnessing 100% renewable energy for direct consumption to detailed reconsiderations about product design and supply chain. A principal objective underlining the environmental impact reduction is to deploy over 50% of low-impact yarns and fabrics comprehensively.

Central to our commitment is our strategic partnership with ECONYL®. Celebrating a decade of pioneering sustainable advancements, ECONYL® transforms nylon waste, including fishing nets and old carpets, into regenerated nylon of equal quality and infinitely recyclable milieu. Each year, for every 10,000 tons of ECONYL® raw material, 70,000 barrels of crude oil are saved, and 65,100 tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions averted. The creation process of ECONYL® mitigates the global warming impact of nylon by up to 90% compared to traditional nylon.

In our stride towards an inclusive and diverse work culture, our plan details awareness-raising commitments for diversity, equity, inclusion alongside securing the Equal Pay certification. Furthermore, we pledge to foster local communities by spearheading high social value projects, specifically targeting protections for children and families in harsh living conditions.

The Sustainability Plan: Crafting the Blueprint for Sustainable Future

Our dedicated Sustainability Unit, in collaboration with relevant department heads, pinpoints areas for improvement, the necessary projects and consequently formulates the Sustainability Plan. The plan, evaluated by the Control, Risks and Sustainability Committee for consistency with our strategy, is then ratified by the Board of Directors. The responsibility to attain the goals outlined rests with the involved departments' officers, endowed with the essential resources, tools and expertise for its realization.

Bearing testament to our unwavering commitment, we instituted a Management By Objectives (MBO) system, aligning social and environmental objectives related to the Sustainability Plan for everyone involved. In acknowledging the dynamic nature of sustainability, we pledge to revisit our plan annually, setting new objectives as we continue to navigate the journey of continuous improvement.

Integration with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Our commitments align with the strategic drivers outlined in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDGs), aiding their achievement. Of the 17 overarching goals explicated in the SDGs, from battling inequality to climate change, we contribute – either directly or through partnerships–to 11 of them.

Paving the Path: Unveiling deTrois®'s Forever Service

We proffer our customers the ability to extend their garments' endurance via our Forever Service. This unique initiative allows our customers to repair, resell, or recycle their deTrois® garments, endorsing the lifelong durability we've woven into each stitch. Our garments, crafted without mixing natural and synthetic materials, ensure seamless recycling at the end-of-life phase. We tirelessly work towards maintaining transparency and making meaningful contributions to our environment.
